ISSEY MIYAKE

ISSEY MIYAKE’s first collection was launched in New York in 1971, and began to be shown in Paris Fashion Week from AUTUMN WINTER 1973.

From the very beginning to this day, Issey Miyake’s design has focused on the concept of “A Piece of Cloth”. ISSEY MIYAKE broke the boundaries between East and West and pursued “the body, the fabric covering it and a comfortable relationship between the two” as a fundamental concept, both shocking and resonating with people the world over.

ISSEY MIYAKE has grown to include a vast number of creative personnel and innovative new techniques, but its core design style - creating clothes from original materials starting with the research of a single thread - has transcended generations. The brand is led by designer Satoshi Kondo since SPRING SUMMER 2020, as it explores the relationship between the body and the clothes with creative ideas for modern women.

PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE

A collection of clothes that are a product in themselves, made with a unique “garment pleating” technique where the materials are developed from a single thread and pleats are added after sewing the clothes into shape. First launched in the ISSEY MIYAKE line in 1988, this pleats line grew until it finally became a brand of its own with the launch of the SPRING SUMMER 1994 collection.

These clothes combine functionality - they’re light and wrinkle-proof, they don’t need to be dry-cleaned, and they can be folded to a compact size for easy storage and carrying - with a versatility that makes them suitable for all settings in your daily life. Comfortable and beautiful too, these clothes have become deeply entrenched in the daily lives of modern women. This brand reflects Issey Miyake’s fundamental concept that “design is not for philosophy, but for life,” and continues to evolve today.

HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE

HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE is created for the lifestyle of modern men with the intent to liberate the way they dress. The brand was established in 2013 as a result of Issey Miyake and his team’s research on pleating since 1988.

Designed for people to mix and match in any way to express their originality, the garments are lightweight, comfortable, wrinkle-resistant, and can be stored and carried in compact sizes. Today the brand continues to enliven everyday living as it is made for every occasion in life.

BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE

Pieces are arranged to create infinite versatile shapes in this bag brand with an innovative concept and production method.

With a triangular structure, the pieces change flat surfaces into three-dimensional ones, creating a new form. This brand brings serendipitous beauty, fun and surprises to the user, along with a practicality that makes these bags suitable for all kinds of settings in your daily life.

The line was launched under PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE in 2000 before becoming its own brand from the AUTUMN WINTER 2010 collection. The brand carries out ongoing research to explore new possibilities from a unique engineering-based approach.

me ISSEY MIYAKE began in 2000, based on the concepts of “light and compact, comfortable, easy styling, easy care and clothes that make life comfortable”.

With the aim of bringing joy to the wearers, this brand continually develops unique materials with a wide variation in colors and prints to bring you clothes that can be worn in all kinds of settings year-round.

“An authentic heart who sees the beauty in the ordinary.”

Miller Harris was founded by ground-breaking perfumer Lyn Harris in 2000. A storyteller in scent, Lyn was one of the first female master perfumers.

“Stories with soul and substance.”

The aesthetic of her perfumes was inspired by stories, memories and the very finest natural ingredients. The iconic line drawings of botanicals which decorated box and bottle reflected a pared back, minimal but ultimately contemporary approach, genuinely representing the dynamic of nature and the urban co-existing, the fragrances told stories which couldn’t be told in words, the coloured boxes expressing their contents succinctly and with integrity.

“A Creative Community.”

As most artists do, Lyn moved on to new horizons in 2012 but her driving passions remain engrained in the brand today. We’ve broadened our reach, searching wider for creative inspiration and involving other creators and their stories as well as opening more experiential stores. We uniquely recognise the sensory links between space, art, music, design and perfume…we are about communicating on multiple planes.

We are London. Just as London itself is a beautiful abstracted mixture of all its 10 million human ingredients, so we filter its influence through our lens. See the World through Miller Harris’ eyes and wake up to wonder. It will be a love affair which lasts.

Whilst we are London, we are also The World. We believe passionately that we have a responsibility to both the Planet and its People. Luxury can seem wasteful, we believe the opposite and that by investing in quality, with provenance, with responsibility, we can move towards better, more sustainable products. We’re not there yet, but we’re determined to keep on taking small steps forwards and looking towards a better future.

Today we exist to scent the Modern Bohemian, the people who seek inspiration in the everyday, who appreciate the daisy pushing through the concrete, the trail of jasmine from a city square, who read a passage from a novel over and over as if listening to music. To be inspired is to live, take a moment to watch the clouds dance across the sky or to hear beats from a bar mingled with birdsong.

Inspirations come from everywhere, rooted in London, a city of different influences, cultures and stories. Creating perfumes inspired by such simple ideas as a white flower, golden light or the journey of a leaf from bud to brittle dust, crafting beautiful perfumes from simple inspiration.

Just as London is an ever moving, changing and developing city, Hong Kong is in many ways a sister city; very different but also very similar. Hong Kong seemed a natural home for this dynamic brand to open new frontiers.
